Case Study: Newark & Sherwood District Council: Low Code Digital Platform Implementation

This case study provides insight into the replacement of Newark & Sherwood District Council's out-dated systems and the delivery of a new CRM by Meritec Limited.

The Challenge

Newark and Sherwood District Council approached Meritec in 2015 to look at replacing a number of their out-dated systems including a legacy CRM solution.  The Council were looking for a unified, agile platform that allowed them to replace several disparate legacy and previously built in-house solutions with a single, cross-service Digital Platform encompassing a modern CRM and integrated customer self-service solution.

The Solution

Working closely with the Meritec team, the Council were able to develop and deliver a unique CRM and a number of cross-service Digital Solutions including, but not limited to the following solutions all on Meritec’s ESB Agile low-code Digital Platform:

  • Full Commercial Waste services solution
  • Information Governance management
  • Room & Resource booking
  • Customer Self-Service e-forms
  • Bulky waste service
  • Mobility worker applications

The Meritec Digital Platform provides a range of reporting and data mining methods for analysing the data within the system for insight and knowledge. The system can integrate with other management information sources based on unique referencing/common key e.g. address and name.

The Council has been able to terminate one or more cost streams by migrating to a more modern and cost-effective solution that enables true digital working and provides the facility to extend the digital experience as far and wide as the Council chooses.”
